In times of great distress, we often turn to prayer for healing. This is certainly true for the nation of Nigeria, which has been through a great deal of pain in recent months.
I have some wonderful friends in Nigeria in the Church there, and it saddens me when they write to me of the violence and unrest in their country. I know that they are strong people of faith, but even the strongest need our prayers.
So today, I want to share with you five specific prayers for Nigeria. These are not just general prayers for healing, but specific requests that we can lift up to God on behalf of our Nigerian brothers and sisters.
May these prayers be a source of comfort and strength for all who read them.
We lift up Nigeria to you today. We know that your heart is grieved over the violence and unrest that has gripped the country. We pray for your healing power to be at work in Nigeria. Bring an end to the fighting and bloodshed, and help your people to find peace and unity. Amen
Father God, we come before you with heavy hearts for all who have been affected by the violence in Nigeria. We pray for those who have lost loved ones, or who have been injured or displaced by the fighting. Grant them your comfort and peace during this difficult time. May they feel your presence with them always. Amen.
Lord, we know that you are a God of justice. We pray for your justice to be done in Nigeria. Bring an end to the corruption and greed that has caused so much suffering in the country. Give your people wisdom and courage to stand up against injustice, and help them to build a better future for all. Amen.
Heavenly Father, we pray for healing for Nigeria – physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Restore hope to those who have lost it, and bring your peace to those who are grieving. Help your people to find strength in you, and give them the courage to face each new day. Amen.
Almighty God, we ask you to bless Nigeria and its people. Bring an end to the violence and turmoil, and help your people to rebuild their lives. Grant them wisdom and strength, and may they always know your presence with them. Amen.
We hope that these prayers will be a source of comfort and strength for all who read them. May Nigeria know your peace and healing, Lord. Amen.
