I remember how worried I was about moving to a new city. I didn’t know anyone and I was leaving the comfort of my home. But, as I prayed these prayers below, God eased my anxiety and helped me to adjust to my new surroundings.
Remember, you will have an instant community in your church – and if you don’t attend, there is always voluntary work, which is a great way to meet people.
A prayer is a powerful tool that can help us in times of transition. Here are ten prayers for when you’re going somewhere new. Moving to a new place can be challenging, but with these prayers, you can ease the transition and make the process smoother.

Dear God,
Thank you for the opportunity to move and start fresh. I know that this is not going to be an easy transition, but with your help, I know that I can get through it.
Please give me the strength to leave my old home and to adjust to my new surroundings. Please give me the courage to meet new people and to make new friends.
Most of all, God, please help me to trust you through this process. I know that you have a plan for me and that you will never leave me or forsake me. Thank you for your love and your grace. Amen.

I hope that these prayers help you as you move to a new place. When I moved, I used one poem a day from this list to say every morning for the first few days, as a positive start to my day in my new place.
Remember, God is always with you, even when it feels like everything is changing!
